This game has become very popular over the years, thanks to its rules and ease of play, and has become the second most popular sport in the world. Volleyball is usually played indoors, although it can also be played outdoors (hence the development of beach volleyball). The net is 9.5 m long by 1 m wide and is fixed to the sides of the court by volleyball posts where antennas are positioned to border the width of the playing area. The two opposing teams are on each side of the net, each with 6 players and a maximum of 6 substitutes.
